Malik directs to enhance security of federal ministers
ISLAMABAD, Mar 2 (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday directed the Capital Police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) to further increase the security of federal ministers following the murder of Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti.He gave these directions while heading a meeting, which discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the country especially after the tragic incident of killing of Shahbaz Bhatti.Malik directed the Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Islamabad Police to submit a preliminary inquiry report of the incident within next 48 hours.
He asked the Capital Police and FC to strengthen the security of all Federal Ministers by providing two additional personnel from Police and two from Frontier Constabulary.
The minister said Islamabad should be divided into four zones, and combing operation should be conducted immediately against the elements of proscribed organizations, miscreants, criminals, illegal settlers and illegal Afghans in the suburbs of the capital.
Malik also directed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to review the security plan for ensuring improved law and order situation in the capital.
