Cell Phones need proper verification: Malik
KARACHI, April 13 (APP): The cell phone users and company regulators are being advised to get all the phones verified and registered, said Interior Minister Rehman Malik here on Wednesday.He was talking to media persons at Jinnah International Terminal on arrival here.“There is definitely need for stringent measures to curb the menace of illegal use of mobile phones by criminal elements,” he added while replying to various questions of the newspersons.
Malik warned that all unregistered cell phone numbers will be blocked to help the law enforcement agencies in checking crime.“It is our best effort to check crime and I will hold a meeting with the mobile phone companies to look after the issue threadbare,” he pointed out. “All efforts are being made for public safety,” he added.
