Efforts afoot for release of Pakistanis from Somali pirates:Malik
ISLAMABAD April 21 (APP): Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Thursday said efforts were being made for the early release of Pakistanis captured by Somali pirates.Talking to reporters outside the Parliament, he said “some people are giving opinion to give ransom for the release of the Pakistanis” adding who would give the guarantee that the pirates would release them after taking the ransom.Replying to a question Malik said he would take up the matter with Interpol and would engage international community to resolve the issue.To another question, he said the government is interested in the permanent solution of the problem.
He said that drone attacks create problems for the government and help terrorist to get sympathy of the locals.
To a question he said Pakistan can combat terrorism if drone technology is provided to it and the government is trying to stop the drone attacks through diplomatic channels.
Malik condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran by the US paster by the hurting sentiments of the Muslim Ummah.
Replying to question Malik said he did not care about life threats and he would continue to play his role for betterment the country.
