Mike Smith meets Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD, May 18 (APP): Executive Director of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) Mike Smith called on Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik and thanked for the cooperation being extended by the Government of Pakistan in formulating a strategy to fight against Hawala Business.Talking to Mike Smith, the Interior Minister said that Pakistan had already passed a legislation which is in the implementation process.
The Minister also apprised him that Pakistan had taken action against terrorists, drug barons including Hawala Business. Due to effective measures of the government,  remittances through legal channels have been increased, Malik added.
The world through the United Nations Organization (UNO) has felt the need to take stringent action/measures against terrorists in terms of arrests,prosecution and bringing them to justice.
The minister thanked Mike Smith for arranging a seminar for parliamentarians in Pakistan and taking keen interest in this regard.
