Rehman Malik calls on Governor Sindh
KARACHI, May 23 (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday called on Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad, at the Governor House here.An official statement said that they discussed the situation arising out of the Mehran Base incident.The two resolved that efforts would continue to tackle the menace of terrorism without yielding to any pressure.It was pointed out that such dastardly acts can not demoralize the nation which instead has become more united.They reiterated the resolve that the government with the cooperation of the people, would eradicate terrorism.
It was informed that investigation into the incident is being conducted at various levels.The statement said that soon after the incident the Governor remained in constant contact with the Naval Chief, Corps Commander, Navy’s Commander karachi, Air Officer Commanding Southern, IG Police and Rangers.
He also asked the concerned authorities to beef up security in the province and make it foolproof, the statement added.
