Malik lauds security arrangements for budget session
ISLAMABAD, June 4 (APP): Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Saturday appreciated the district administration and Islamabad police for ensuring fool-proof security arrangements during the budget session.
He made these remarks while chairing a meeting which was also attended by Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Police and other officials concerned.The Interior Minister directed the IG Police to take further steps for improving security in the Supreme Court Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Enclave and Secretariat.
He said honest and efficient station house officers (SHOs) should be posted in police stations and those who are not performing up to the mark should be transferred.
Lauding services of 1000 volunteers, the Minister further directed the IGP to increase community policing and to restart new appointment process in the Islamabad police. In this process, he said the volunteers should be given priority
He also directed the IGP to implement the order of Supreme Court regarding the shoulder promotion in Islamabad police.
Rehman Malik announced one month salary for those police staff who performed duty during the budget session on Friday.
