PM for coordinated effort to improve security situation
ISLAMABAD, June 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday asked the Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik to make a coordinated effort with all the provincial governments to improve the security situation in the country.He further asked him to strengthen the intelligence gathering and sharing mechanism for achieving the goals.The Prime Minister, in his meeting with Minister for Interior Rehman Malik here at the PM Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon, said that necessary steps must be taken to enhance the counter militancy effectiveness of the civil law enforcement agencies.The capacity building and training of law enforcement agencies is essential to upgrade the security management, he added.
The overall security situation of the country also came under discussion during the meeting.
The Interior Minister briefed the Prime Minister about various steps taken by the Interior Ministry to enhance coordination and intelligence sharing with the provincial security agencies.
