Govt breaks backbone of target killers, land grabbers, extortionist in Karachi: Malik       
ISLAMABAD, Sept 19 (APP): Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Monday said the government has broken the backbone of target killers, land grabbers and extortionist during the ongoing operation in Karachi.Talking media outside the parliament he said people in Karachi are no more afraid of land grabbers and extortionists and they are now approaching law enforcement agencies for action against them.The Minister observed that Karachi is peaceful once again due to hard work done by the police and Rangers.Regarding the bomb blast at the house of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chaudhry Aslam in Karachi, he said elements who wanted to destabilize the peace in the city are behind this act.
“Many people are unhappy over the peace established in Karachi and they wanted to disturb law and order to achieve their nefarious design”.
He paid rich tribute to service rendered by the Chaudhry Aslam for  restoring peace in the Karachi.
He said there were intelligence reports of possible terrorist threats to high value people in Karachi, however, the terrorists were unable to reach the target and hit the Chaudhry Aslam home, he added.
Rehman Malik said now terrorists are targeting innocent children and families. “What kind of Islam is this; terrorists are targeting innocent children and families members while the Islam is religion of peace and harmony.”
He said Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has taken the responsibility of attack at SSP home.
To a question the minister said he is also receiving threats from terrorists.  Rehman Malik said President Asif Ali Zardari has released funds for enhancement of capacity of the police in Sindh province.
He said son of the former governor Punjab will be recovered soon as the government has got some clues. He said Punjab police is capable enough to recover and take action against the people involved in the kidnapping.
The Minister said he had written a latter to Chief Justice seeking his intervention to stop political parties from taking “Fitrana and animal skins
