Intelligence agencies to liaison with police against terrorists: Malik

Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said on Sunday all intelligence and security agencies would work in unison with police in operations against terrorists in future. “ISI and FIA may also be asked to help police if the need arises”, he said while talking to media at the Services Hospital where he had gone to inquire about the injured of the Model Town and Garhi Shahu terrorist attacks.
The Minister expressed solidarity with the injured and assured them of all kind of help.
Talking to injured policemen, he said security personnel were national heroes. He said gallantry awards would be given to the policemen who risked their lives and sustained injuries to protect innocent worshippers.
Earlier, Rehman Malik visited Jinnah Hospital and inquired about the health of people injured during the terrorist attacks on worship places of Ahmedis. He also presented bouquets to the injured.
Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti was also present.
