Malik urges US govt to take action against plan of burning Holy Quran

       
ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (APP): Interior Minister, Senator A. Rehman Malik on Thursday urged Secretary General Interpol Ronald K.  Noble and US government to take strict action against plan of (God forbids) burning of the Holy Quran on the anniversary of the September-2001 attack. Talking to media, the Minister said that the US government must stop Florida’s insane priest Terry Jones from doing this act, which can cause agitation among Muslim Ummah.

 

In a letter to the Secretary General, he drew attention of the Interpol towards the issue in which the priest has declared to burn the holy book of Muslims publicly, which is a crime against humanity and falls under international offense as it would inflict the international peace and harmony.
Malik said, “It is a crime against humanity and interfaith and Interpol must play its role to stop this heinous criminal act by insane Terry Jones as it will bring irreversible damage to the world peace especially when the world is fighting against all kind of acts of terrorism.”
He stressed upon the secretary general to take up the issue with the concerned authorities of US to stop this highly criminal act, which would hurt the sentiments of Muslim Ummah.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has also condemned the plan and asked international community to stop this regrettable plan being arranged by a Church of Florida on September 11.
He said Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, brotherhood and it discourages tendencies of extremism and terrorism.
The Senator was of the view that such shocking and shameful event would hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the world which could be detrimental for the efforts being made to maintaining peace in the world.
