France Special envoy calls on Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (APP): France Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Mrs. Jasmine Zarmini on Tuesday called on Minister for Interior Rehman Malik and discussed with him matters related to war on terror and security issues.Later, talking to media persons, both leaders expressed the resolve of Pakistan and France to reach the war on terror to its logical end. During meeting it has been decided that both countries will soon sign an agreement on security, they said.Special Envoy said that France regards the wishes of Pakistani people and fully supports the bold decisions of the government of Pakistan.
Rehman Malik said that Pakistan will not allow any one to use its soil for terrorist activities. He added due to war on terror, Pakistan is facing economic problems and asked the international community to help Pakistan to overcome these problems.
He said it is a high time to take action against terrorists, who are the real enemies of all.
He said banned organizations have been stopped to collect donations or sacrificial animals hides on Eid days and warned that action will be taken against violators.
He added DIG of every division will be responsible to check the activities of banned groups. He added special security arrangements have been made for Eid-ul-Azha.
Replying to a question, the minister said that due to government’s immediate steps, the sugar price is now reducing gradually. He added instructions have been issued to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against sugar hoarders.
Rehman Malik said under Ministry of Interior’s ongoing anti-corruption drive, action will be taken against corrupt officials of four departments.
He said some officials involved in such activities have already been arrested including those who were involved in Hajj irregularities while anti-corruption drive will be expedited after Eid on the direction of the Prime Minister.
