Regional countries should join hands to fight terrorism: Malik
ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Friday that regional countries should join hands against threats of terrorism.“Terrorists want to destabilize the region,therefore, Pakistan,India and Afghanistan should sit together to think over the issue of terrorism”, Rehman Malik said this while talking to journalists at Gujer Khan Press Club after inauguration of Machine Readable Passport and Visa Services here.He said terrorism is mindset which is present in every country, adding better understanding among neighboring countries is necessary to defeat terrorism.The minister said that agenda for upcoming talks between Pakistan Interior Secretary and Indian Home Minister has been finalized.
He said due to timely information provided by Pakistan to Interpol, a terrororsm bid in Colombo during the Cricket World Cup matches has been foiled.
He said the arrested man belongs to Maldives and remained associated with Jihadi organizations.
To a question, he said Pakistan has strongly condemned drone attacks as these violate our sovernighty.
“ We told US officials that these attacks are counter productive”.
He said that Pakistani leadership have the courage to take bold decisions without compromising on national interests.
