Rs 10 mln prize announced for providing info. about culprits of target killing

 

Federal Minister for Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik Saturday announced to award Rs 10 million prize on behalf of the Federal Government, for providing information about those elements, who are involved in recent target killing incidents in Karachi. He said this while jointly chaired a meeting about law and order in the city, along with Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah at CM House here. Rehman Malik said all possible steps will be taken to maintain peace in metropolis and the Federal Government will provide every possible help in the regard.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah said law and order of Karachi will be maintained at any cost and no one will be allowed to play with the lives of innocent people.

The CM said more than 30 people lost their lives in target killing incidents in the city during last four days, which is, he said highly condemnable.

The participants of the meeting also offered fateha for the people died in the target killing.

The participants of the meeting presented various suggestions to maintain tranquility in the city.

The meeting decided to form strategy to eliminate crimes with consultation of all allies in Sindh government. A decision was also made to further extend the powers of Rangers for three months under ATA.

The meeting also decided carrying weapons in the city will be banned.

The SHO of the respective police station will be responsible to control crimes in his jurisdiction, while performances of the SHOs will also be reviewed, the meeting decided.

The participants decided to divide Karachi in zones and point out the sensitive areas so as to ensure effective monitoring of the sensitive areas.

A decision was also made to impose complete ban on display of flags and banners on buildings, public places and roads.

Among other notables, Sindh Home Minister, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, IG Sindh Police, Sultan Salahuddin Baber Khatak, Secretary Home, Arif Ahmed Khan, DG Rangers, Major Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry, CCPO Karachi, Waseem Ahmed and other concerned officials.
