Concerted efforts needed to eliminate terrorism: Rehman Malik
KARACHI, Sept 23 (APP): Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Friday said Pakistan had lost lives of 35000 countrymen in war against terrorism but we are still fighting because it is must to bring peace in the country, region and the globe and concerted efforts can help to achieve the cause.He was talking to media after a meeting with a delegation of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) at State Guest House here.Earlier, a  delegation of the SHCBA led by its President Anwer Mansoor Khan met with Rehman Malik.
Rehman Malik said the members of the lawyers fraternity are also playing role in war against the terrorism. The lawyers plead cases in favour or against different parties, therfore they also fell victims, he added.
 The Interior Minister said 24 lawyers have lost their lives at the hands of criminals and terrorists.
 He said we would propose to the authorities concerned to give compensation to the heirs of lawyers who have been killed by the terrorists.
 Rehman Malik said he has directed the Police to provide authorized police contingent for security at the High Court of Sindh.
 Rehman Malik said he would also direct to strengthen security at the courts.
 He said he would also propose to dedicate a wing of police so as to deploy policemen for security of a lawyer on any particularly request.
 He said we would take the lawyers fraternity in confidence with regard to surgical action which is being conducted in Karachi.
 He informed the newsmen that 79 target killers and 45 extortionists are under custody, who had been arrested during surgical operation in different areas in Karachi.
 The Interior Minister said we will also take action against the land grabbers and a road-map is being designed in this regard.
 He told a questioner that Haqqani Network has its own motives but the faction is not our friend and if we received any information about the Haqqani Group, we will take action accordingly.
 He also appealed to the philanthropists to extend every possible assistance of the rain and flood affectees in Sindh.
