ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP): Minister for Interior A Rehman Malik on Friday informed the Senate that according to interior ministry’s information there was no Senator from Khyber Pukhtukhwa on Exit Control List (ECL).“As for as our information, Interpol too has not mentioned anyone’s name,” he informed the Senate while responding to a point of order of ANP’s  Haji Adeel. He said that he would write to Secretary General Interpol to know the reality and after investigating into the matter would submit a report to the House within three to four days.
Haji Adeel had drawn attention of the House towards a news aired by a private TV channel, in which it was claimed that Interpol had issued arrest warrant of a Senator from KPK.
Rehman Malik asked the media to confirm authenticity of such a news item before airing or publishing it.
Replying to a Point of Orders raised by Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Rehmat Ullah Kakar regarding abduction of JUI leader in Quetta, he promised that he would talk to provincial home secretary as it was a provincial matter.
He said that efforts were being made to curb such crimes and stern action would be taken against the culprits.  In response to another point of order the minister said that all resources would be utilized to nab those who were making threatening calls to Senator Hafiz Abdu-r-Rashid. The law enforcing agencies were tracing the origin from where the calls were being made.  To a point of order of JUI-F’s Haji Ghulam Ali, the minister assured the House that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s name was not present in any list of the NRO beneficiaries.  He said that cyber crime bill was pending before the parliament for the last two and half years.
