Malik rules out army operation in South Punjab

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Tuesday that the war on terror would be fought in collaboration with the Punjab government, a private TV channel reported.Expressing his views while talking to journalists outside Parliament House, the minister said that the nation was united in eliminating terrorism.He said there was no conflict with the Punjab government and the federal government was fully cooperating in eradicating the menace of terrorism. 

Answering a question, he said there were no plans of an army operation in south Punjab. However, he said targeted operation would be conducted after credible intelligence reports.
Malik said the fresh wave of terror attacks in Punjab was different from the past and there was a factor of sectarianism in recent attacks.
