Malik for appearance of Indian prosecution witnesses of Mumbai attack in Pak court
       
ISLAMABAD, Sep 4 (APP): Interior Minister A. Rehman Malik and his Indian counterpart Chidambaram in a recent telephonic conversation discussed matters relating to security issues and certain aspects of the ongoing trial of Mumbai blast accused in Pakistan.Interior Minister Rehman Malik underlined the importance of appearance of the two Indian prosecution witnesses in the Court in Pakistan to carry the trial process forward, as per directions of the court, says a press released issued here on Saturday.
The Indian Home Minister was further informed that the court has not yet decided about the offer of India to allow the witnesses to testify through video conferencing.
The Interior Minister also proposed that, subject to the approval by the court, a commission of relevant officials may be formed to visit India and record the statements of the witnesses.
The Home Minister of India mentioned that any proposal, when received, would be examined.He expressed his sympathies and condolences over the loss of lives and property due to the recent devastating floods in Pakistan. The Interior Minister thanked Chidambaram for the thoughtful gesture.
