Establishment Division given 7 days for reply in Rao Tehseen case

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP): Islamabad High Court (IHC)
Wednesday granted seven days to Establishment Division for reply in
a case regarding disciplinary action against former Principal
Information Officer (PIO) Rao Tehseen Ali Khan in the news leak matter.
Justice Aamer Farooq of IHC heard the case filed by Rao Tehseen
challenging the disciplinary action against him by the Establishment Division.
During the proceeding, the counsel for the petitioner Waseem
Sajjad appeared before the bench and contended that the division had not submitted its reply in the case so far.
The official of Establishment Division took the stance
that inquiry officer in the case, Younis Dhaga, had refused to
hold this responsibility, saying that a new summary would be moved
for appointment of inquiry officer.
The Establishment Division requested the bench to grant
further period to answer in the case, which was accepted by
the court and adjourned the hearing till September 14.
It may be mentioned here that Rao Tehseen Ali Khan
had challenged disciplinary action against him in IHC. He had
took the stance in his plea that it was not his responsibility to
stop publication of the controversial news in the daily Dawn.
He had prayed the court to declare action against him as null and void.
