ISESCO to hold workshop on role of women leaders in promoting peace

Rabat, July 3 (APP/IINA): Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (ISESCO) will hold a regional training workshop on the role of
women leaders in promoting a culture of peace at its Regional Center for
Education for a Culture of Peace (CRECP) in Yamoussoukro, C“te d’Ivoire, on
July 3-6.
The workshop aims to enhance the role of women in the decision-making
process and in consolidating the culture of peace, in addition to supporting
their role as mediators for dialogue and peace in African countries in the fields of education, politics, economics, culture and interfaith dialogue.
Participants in the workshop comprise a number of women
parliamentarians,university presidents, researchers, journalists, female workers in the educational, audiovisual, social networking sectors as well as leaders of women associations from African member states including Benin, Burkina Faso, C“ted’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Togo, Senegal and Gabon.
ISESCO is represented at the workshop by Mariama Niang, a programmes’
specialist at the Directorate of Human and Social Sciences.
