Canada approves tripling capacity of Trans Mountain pipeline to Pacific

OTTAWA, (MILLAT+APP/AFP) – Canada approved Tuesday
tripling the capacity of Kinder Morgan’s half-century-old Trans Mountain pipeline to move crude from the Alberta oil sands to the Pacific coast, to 890,000 barrels per day.
At the same time, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau greenlit another
pipeline to the United States, Line 3, and rejected a project to the Pacific that would have crossed a temperate rainforest, Enbridge’s Northern Gateway project.
