FATA parliamentarians agree on merger with KP

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Parliamentarians from Federally Administered Tribal Areas have developed consensus on Tribal Areas merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, State Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Ghalib Khan said Thursday.
Talking to media, he said the parliamentarians were unanimous on FATA reforms and the merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would bring prosperity, peace and end the prevailing sense of deprivation in the area.
He said the jurisdiction of Supreme Court of Pakistan and Peshawar High Court should be extended to FATA. The government has assured FATA merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within the next 5 to 10 years period.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah G Gul Afridi, MNA said MNAs and Senators of FATA were on one page regarding FATA reforms and merger in KP. He demanded three percent share for FATA from National Finance Commission Award (NFC) as it will ensure provision of health and education facilities.
Criticising double taxation in FATA, he said tribesmen will favour the merger if their long standing demands of permit and transit tax is waived off.
