Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (MILLAT ONLINE):Three ships, M.T Lion M, M.T Chemroad Queen
and M.V Da Kang carrying Furnace oil, Chemicals and Project Cargo were
allotted berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi
Purpose Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report
issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships, Priority, Horizon and Tembek with
Containers, Palm oil and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port
Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 47% on Wednesday
where a total of eight ships namely, MSC Heidi, Chang AN, Gong Ying-1,
Kenta, Da Kang, White Purl, Chemroad Queen and Lion M are currently
occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Animal Feed, Coal, Soya
Bean Seeds, Project Cargo, LPG, Chemicals and Furnace oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 107,946 tonnes, comprising 79,655 tonnes,
import cargo and 28,291 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized
cargo carried in 1,588 containers (TEUs), (99 TEUs, imports and 1,489
TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Bulk cargo carrier ‘Kenta’ sailed out to sea on Thursday morning,
while Containers Vessel MSC Heidi is expected to sail on same day.
Three ships, C.V Priority, M.V QI-Xiang-22 and M.T Horizon
carrying Containers, Soya Bean and Palm oil are expected to take berths
at QICT, FAP and LCT respectively on Thursday, while an oil tanker
Pavino Spirit is due to arrive at PQ on same day and two more ships
C.V Teno and C.V Hansa America are due to arrive on Friday.
