China sets 2017 growth target at ‘around 6.5%’: Premier Li

BEIJING, March 5 (APP/AFP) – China on Sunday cut its growth target for this year to “around 6.5 percent”, as the world’s second-largest economy faces an array of challenges.
The target, detailed in a report to be presented to the Chinese parliament later in the day, was lower than last year’s range of 6.5 to seven percent.
The economy ended up growing 6.7 percent in 2016, its slowest rate in more than a quarter of a century.
