Hong Kong stocks end morning higher

HONG KONG, (APP/AFP) – Hong Kong and Shanghai
stocks rose in the morning session Friday as investors await a key speech by Federal Reserve boss Janet Yellen later in the day hoping for a steer on US monetary policy.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.54 percent, or 124.22 points, to 22,939.17.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.57 percent, or 17.41 points,
to 3,085.74 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s
second exchange, added 0.93 percent, or 18.72 points, to 2,037.74.
