Hong Kong stocks end morning higher after China data

HONG KONG, Oct 14, (APP/AFP) – Hong Kong stocks rallied Friday as the first rise in Chinese producer prices for more than four years helped recover some of the previous day’s sharp losses. The Hang Seng index added 0.58 percent, or 132.50 points, to 23,163.80 by the break. But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.53 percent, or 16.20 points, to 3,045.15 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 0.75 percent, or 15.42 points, to 2,033.89.
