LAHORE, May 26 (APP): PML-N Lahore Chapter President
Pervaiz Malik Friday hailed the government for presenting
a pro-farmers budget.
Talking to APP here, he said the agriculture
sector would grow and the farmers would prosper due to the farmer
friendly budget 2017-18, adding that reduction in the
agriculture mark-up for land owners with less than 12.5 acre
to 9.9 per cent from around 15 per cent would provide relief
to farmers.
He said provision of two million loans of Rs 50,000 each
of worth Rs 1,001 billion had been a pro-people decision and
reflected the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s support
for the agriculture sector of the country.
Malik said the banks were being linked with the Land
Record Management Information System (LRIMS) so that the
land ownership could be verified immediateky and the loans
to the farmers disbursed swiftly.
Pervaiz Malik said relief in the prices of the fertilizers
was another landmark decision while waiving-off customs duty
and sales tax on new and five-year old combined harvesters
was anoter revolutonary step.
PML-N Lahore President Pervaiz Malik said fiscal budget
2017-18 was a balanced budget which had provided relief to all
and sundry.
