Shanghai stocks close higher, Hong Kong ends down

HONG KONG, (APP/AFP) – Shanghai closed higher on Monday
helped by the buying of technology shares, but Hong Kong stocks ended the session down as oil prices also retreated.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.64 percent, or 18.17
points, to 2,843.65, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 1.45 percent, or 26.04 points, to 1,820.99.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.2 percent, or 43.17 points, to 19,809.03.
