Shanghai stocks end morning up after China data

HONG KONG, Oct 19, (APP/AFP) – Shanghai stocks rose Wednesday morning following data showing China’s economy stabilised in the third quarter of the year but Hong Kong gave up initial gains. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.12 percent, or 3.66 points, to 3,087.54 but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, dipped 0.10 percent, or 2.08 points, to 2,054.51. And the Hang Seng index fell 0.12 percent, or 29.06 points, to 23,365.33 by the break.
