Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (APP): Five Ships C.V MSC Roma, C.V CMA CGM
Nerval, M.V Skelt, M.V Pabal and M.T Corona carrying containers, slag
canola seeds and palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim
International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Grain and
Fertilizer Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on
Wednesday.
Meanwhile two more ships C.V MSC Beijing and M.V Ginga Hawk with
container and general cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port
Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 67% on Thursday where
a total of ten ships namely, C.V MSC Roma, C.V CMA CGM Nerval C.V
Maersk Stockholm, M.V An African, M.V Skelt, M.V Pabal, M.T Corona,
M.T ECE Nur-K, M.T Re Eagle and M.T White Purl and were occupied PQA
berths to load/offload containers, Cement, slag, canola seeds, palm
oil, diesel oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling registered on upward trend at the port where a
cargo volume of 160,199 tonnes, comprising 99,995 tonnes imports and
60,204 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in
4,853 containers (TEUs)(1,757 TUES imports and 3,096 TEUsS exports)
was handled during last 24 hours.
Three ships C.V MSC Roma, M.V Red Eagle and M.T While Purl sailed
are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
A total of six ships C.V MSC Beijing, C.V Rio Blanco, M.V Da Zi
Yun, M.T Ginag Hawk, M.T Gaslog Singapore and M.T Al-Dasma carrying
containers, general cargo, phosphoric acid, LNG and diesel oil are
expected to take berths at QICT, MW-3, EVTL, EETL and FOTCO
respectively on Friday, while three more arrive at Port Qasim on
Saturday, and C.V Ne Jersey is due to arrive on Sunday.
