KARACHI, (APP): Four ships C.V Maersk Salina, M.V Apollo
Bulker, M.T SC Xiamen and M.T BW Boran scheduled to load/offload
containers, cement, chemicals and palm oil were berthed at Qasim
International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid
Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Meanwhile three more ships m.V Poavosa Wisdom-III, M.V Globe
Tanya and m.T Bunga Akasia with Steel coil, LPG and palm oil also
arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 60% on Wednesday where
a total of nine ship namely, C.V Maersk Salina, C.V Maersk Detroit,
C.V CMA CGM Othello, M.V Apollo Bulker, M.T SC Xiamen, M.V Elly, M.V
Jewel of Dubai, M.T BW Boron and M.T Neclar Sea were occupied PQA
berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, general cargo
sorghum, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 115,530 tonnes,
comprising 89,304 tonnes imports and 26,226 tonnes exports, inclusive
of containerized cargo carried in 3,989 containers, (TEUs)(2,852 TEUs
imports & 1,137 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Two ships, container vessel CMA CGM Othello and Oil tanker Nectar
Sea expected to sail on sameday (today) afternoon.
Five ships C.V MSC Rachele, C.V Mehuin, M.T Intrepid Republic,
M.T Globe Tanya and M.T Bahra carrying containers, chemicals, LPG and
diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, SSGCPG and FOTCO
respectively on Thursday, and M.T Chembulk Westport with container and
chemicals are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
