Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI (MILLAT+APP): Two ships C.V Newark and M.V Amoy Action
carrying containers and 37,000 tonnes coal were allotted berths at
Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal
Berth No.1 respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile four more ships Al-Bahia, MSC Silvana, El-Kadel and
Bochem Chennani with containers, diesel oil and palm oil also arrived
at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Sixty percent berth occupancy was managed at the port on Sunday
where a total of nine ships namely Newark, Safmarine Nyassa, Mariman,
Amoy Action, Georgia-T, Bunga Azalea, Igic Anka, Maria-III and Alpine
Magic are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice,
coal, canola seeds, LPG, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during
last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 110,975 tonnes, comprising 74,954 tonnes import
cargo and 36,021 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo
carried in 3,200 containers TEUs 1,600 imports TUEs & 1,600 exports)
was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Two ships, oil tamker ‘Alpine Magic’ and bulk cargo carrier
‘Georgia-T’ sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more
ships Safmarine Nyassa, Newark, Bunga and Azalea are expected to sail
on same day afternoon.
Four ships C.V Al-Bahia, c.V MSC Silvana, M.V Glory Navigator and
M.T Brizo carrying containers, 63,770 tonnes canola seeds and 64,950
tonnes furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal,
Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively
Monday, while chemicals carrier Malta is due to arrive at Port Qasim
on same day and container ships Maersk Stepnica is due to arrive at
Port Qasim on Tuesday.
