Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (APP): Shipping activity remained brisk at the
Port Qasim (PQ) where six ships C.V CMA CGM Carmen, C.V CMA CGM
Maussant, M.V Diamond Sea, M.T Kong Que Song, M.T Allantic Glory and
M.T Bahra Scheduled to load/ offload Containers, 16,643 tonnes cement,
1076 tonnes project cargo, 11,500 tonnes Chemicals and 55,000 tonnes
Diesel oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal,
Multi Purpose Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal respectively on
Thursday, April 7, 2016.
Meanwhile another Chemicals carrier `GSW Frontier’ also arrived
at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at sixty percent on
Thursday where a total of nine ships namely C.V CMA CGM Carmen, C.V
CMA CGM Maussant, M.V Diamond Sea, M.T Kong Que Song M.V Sea Wave, M.T
Atlantic Glory, M.T Al-Saflia, M.T Central Park and M.T Bahra were
occupied at PQA berths to load /offload containers, Cement, Project
cargo, Chemicals, LNG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24
hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port
where a cargo vlume volume of 153,113 tonnes, comprising 118,630
tonnes imports and 34,753 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized
cargo carried in 4,151 containers (TEUs) (2,539 TEUs imports and 1,612
TEUS exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three ships, C.V Maeva, C.V CMA CGM Maussant and M.T Al-Saflia
sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships M.T Central
Park and M.T Kong Que Song are expected to sail on same day today.

Four ships C.V CSAV Toconao, C.V Uni Florida, M.T GSW Frontier
and M.T Liberty-N carrying Containers, Chemicals and LPG are expected
to take berths at QICT EVTL and SSGCLPG respectively on Friday, April
8, 2016. While four more ships M.V Da Yu Xia, M.V Alpha Flame, C.V
MSC Texas and C.V Safmarine Ngami with project cargo, canola seeds and
containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim Saturday, 9th April 2016.
