Tokyo stocks end higher on weak yen, positive data

TOKYO, (APP/AFP) – Tokyo stocks closed higher on Monday, extending a global rally, as the yen weakened and latest Japanese economic data proved better than expected.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange climbed 1.74 percent, or 294.88 points, to finish at 17,233.75. The Topix index of all first-section shares gained 1.52 percent, or 20.63 points, to end at 1,379.95.
