Tokyo stocks fall in morning on mounting Trump woes

TOKYO, May 18, (APP/AFP) – Tokyo stocks fell Thursday morning,
tracking a tumble on Wall Street as US president Donald Trump’s mounting crises raise questions about the future of his ambitious economic agenda.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index dropped 1.44 percent, or 285.18
points, to sit at 19,529.70 by the lunch break, while the Topix index of all first-section issues fell 1.36 percent, or 21.48 points, to 1,554.34.
