Tokyo stocks open lower

TOKYO, July 19, (APP/AFP) – Tokyo stocks opened
lower on Wednesday as a higher yen, on the backdrop of worries about US President Donald Trump’s relations with the Congress, weighed on exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.12 percent, or 23.57 points, to
19,976.34 in the first minutes of trading while the Topix index of all
first-section issues was down 0.20 percent, or 3.25 points, at 1,617.23.
