5 killed, 55 injured in central Philippine construction site collapse
MANILA, (MILLAT ONLINE)::Five workers were killed and 55 others injured when a four-storey bunkhouse collapsed at dawn on Tuesday in the central Philippine city of Cebu, Xinhua quoted disaster officials as saying.
Disaster officials said the accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. in Luz, a village in Cebu City. Five among the injured were serious and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
At least 153 workers reportedly spent the night at the bunkhouse which was made of metal scaffoldings and other construction materials. Rescue operations have been continuing, officials said.
