China supports political stability in South Asia for economic development

BEIJING, (APP): China strongly supports political stability in
South Asia as this is extremely crucial for economic development and well being of the people of the region that holds all potential to emerge as a hub of prosperity and peace, said Ambassador Hu Zhengyue, a senior member (deputy) of National Peoples Congress and also a member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee.
Talking to a group of South Asian journalist here on yesterday, the
seasoned diplomat said China accords top priority to maintain cordial relationship with all its neighbors, who happen to be no less than 14 in number, and for the very purpose has taken series of measures offering each of these countries a win-win option that does not in any way compromise any of their interests or that of China itself.
“We attribute great significane to stability as without stability there
can be no development,” he said reiterating that no developing country including China can allow other parties to interfere in their affairs.
In reply to a question Hu Zhengyue, also the Vice Chairman of China
Pubic Diplomacy Association, said his country and Pakistan have enjoyed a smooth relationship for quite a long time and he was confident that the two neighbours would maintain the trend in future too.
China, he said was absolutely committed to not only expand its bilateral
relationship with Pakistan but also further strengthen it through
series of measures equally beneficial for the people of the two countries.
“Both the countries are equally keen to expand bilateral cooperation and
this is well reflected through Pakistan’s prime position in the Belt and Road initiative of China,” said the deputy of the China’s National Peoples Congress, the major legislative body of the country.
” I am also of the opinion that future of relationship between the two
counties is bright and this is particulalry in context of infrastructure
development,” he said also referring to proposed establishment of series of industrial parks in Pakistan with the motive to expand cooperation in the field of science and technology.
To a question related to role of China in the ongoing global fight
against terrorism, he said his country has arrived to the conclusion that all countries must join hands against the meance, however, this must be under the umbrella of United Nation’s Security Council.
“We have a clear and firm stance and are ready to cooperate with all
countries for the purpose,” said Hu Zhengyue.
