European stock markets extend Trump-led rally at open

LONDON, (MILLAT+APP/AFP) – Europe’s main stock markets
rose at the start of trading on Thursday, extending the previous session’s strong gains in the wake of Donald Trump’s shock US presidential victory.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.7 percent to 6,962.64 points compared with Wednesday’s close.
Frankfurt’s DAX 30 won 0.6 percent to 10,710.04 points and the Paris CAC 40 advanced 0.7 percent to 4,577.01.
World stock markets have recovered from a sharp initial downturn to Trump’s win, with Europe’s leading indices closing up between 1.0 and 1.6 percent on Wednesday.
