Hong Kong stocks join global retreat over Trump levies
Hong Kong, (MILLAT ONLINE):Hong Kong stocks tumbled Friday as world markets are pummelled by Donald Trump’s decision to throw up tariffs on steel and aluminium imports, which many fear could spark a global trade war.
The Hang Seng Index fell 1.48 percent, or 460.80 points, to end at 30,583.45.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.59 percent, or 19.22 points, to 3,254.53, and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 0.64 percent, or 11.80 points, to 1,822.21.
