Iran to increase electricity export to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Mar 31 (APP): Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian has said that Pakistan wanted to import electricity from Iran up to 3,000 megawatts and the country’s minister for water and power would sign the related agreement during his upcoming visit to Tehran.
“For the past 13 years, Iran has exported its electricity to Pakistan,” he said, adding that during the recent visit to the neighboring country by President Hassan Rouhani, Tehran and Islamabad decided to increase the level of electricity export by 40 percent,Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
The minister said Iran had established electricity exchange with seven
neighboring countries.
Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan are among countries that import Iran’s electricity.
