Ivanka Trump says visit to Korea is to reaffirm ‘commitment’ to ally

SEOUL/INCHEON, (MILLAT ONLINE):Ivanka Trump, the daughter of US President Donald Trump, said Friday that she came to South Korea to reaffirm the “strong and enduring commitment” to the people of the US’ ally, Yonhap reported.
She made the remarks upon arriving at Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul, to attend the upcoming closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics to be held on Sunday. She serves as a senior adviser to the president.
“It is a great honour to be here in South Korea with the US delegation. We are very excited to attend the 2018 Winter Olympic Games to cheer for Team USA and to reaffirm our strong and enduring commitment with the people of the Republic of Korea,” she said, according to the reports.
“So thank you for the kind welcome. We are excited to be here and are looking forward to several wonderful days,” she said.
Ivanka Trump is scheduled to have dinner with South Korean President Moon Jae-in later in the day. During her four-day stay, she will also travel to the eastern town of PyeongChang to meet US athletes and join the closing ceremony.
