Kamran concerned over Irfan Masih’s death due to doctors’ ‘criminal negligence’

ISLAMABAD, June 3 (APP): Minister for Human Rights Senator
Kamran Michael Saturday expressed concern over the tragic
incident of death of sewer cleaner Irfan Masih in Civil Hospital
Umerkot on Friday due to doctors’ criminal negligence.
He condemned the irresponsible behaviour of the doctors and
said that criminal negligence would not be tolerated at any cost and
all those who responsible for the death of the sanitary worker would
be taken into task, said a press release.
Kamran Michael contacted the relevant officials after taking
serious notice of the news of the sad incident broadcast on the
national media.
He directed the relevant officials to probe into the matter
and submit its report immediately.
Michael telephoned SSP Umerkot Usman Bajwa and directed him to
file an FIR against those responsible for the sad incident and arrest
them. He further directed to conduct an immediate inquiry
the matter and take stern action against those who committed
the criminal negligence.
He said the government was responsible to protect the rights
and safety of every citizen.
Soon after, MS of the hospital, Dr Jaam Kunbhar, the other two
doctors and three officers of municipal department has been
arrested.
Reportedly, Irfan Masih was cleaning a sewer early on Thursday
morning when he fell down int the manhole and became unconscious.
He was then rushed to the Civil Hospital Umerkot, where he died
due to the criminal negligence of doctors.
