Kolakovic convokes 21 players for FIVB World League

TEHRAN, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP/MNA): Iran coach Igor Kolakovic has called up 20
players for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League.
Preliminary Round Group 1 competitions of FIVB Volleyball World League
2017 will be competed on 2-18 June by 12 teams from Serbia, Brazil, France, Italy, Poland, America, Russia, Iran, Belgium, Argentina, Bulgaria and Canada who are divided into three groups.
Group 1 comprises Iran, Brazil, Italy and Poland while national teams
of Czech Republic, Finland, Korea and Slovenia have been seeded in Group B.
Meanwhile, the third group consists of Spain, Greece, Mexico and Qatar.
Accordingly, Kolakovic has invited 21 players that will compete in the
World League. The Serbian coach has summoned Mir Saeid Marouf, Farhad Salafzoon, Milad Ebadipour, Saman Faezi, Farhad Ghaemi, Mohammad Moousavi Eraghi, Pourya Fayazi, Mostafa Heidari, Adel Gholami, Amir Ghafour, Mojtaba Mirzajanpour, Javad Hosseinabadi, Mohammad Javad Manvinejad, Mohammad Fallah, Ali Shafei, Mohamad Taher Vadi, Reza Ghara, Masoud Gholami, Mahdi Marandi, and Salim Chaparli.
Kolakovic’s staff includes team manager Amir Khosh Khabar, assistant
coaches Payman Akbari, Dragan Kobiljski, Saeid Rezaei, and trainer Daniel Misic.
Following a five-day training camp, players will depart for
Montenegro, Slovenia and Poland on May 07 to participate at an international training camp before returning to Tehran on May 23.
In the course of camps, the Persian side intends to prepare for this
year’s international competitions, including the FIVB Volleyball World League, FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup and the Asian Championship.
Iranian volleyball players are slated to take up Italian rivals on
June 02 in their first debut at 2017 World League.
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League will be the 28th edition of the
annual men’s international volleyball tournament played by 36 teams between 2 June and 2 July. The Group 1 Final Round will be held in Curitiba, Brazil.
