Tokyo stocks close higher after Wall St gains
Tokyo,(MILLAT ONLINE):Tokyo stocks closed higher Monday despite a stronger yen, supported by big gains on Wall Street last week as fears abated over the possibility of accelerated US interest rate hikes.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.19 percent or 260.85 points to end at 22,153.63 while the broader Topix index was up 0.81 percent or 14.28 points at 1,774.81.
