Trump’s first-year job approval 10 points lower than any predecessor: Poll

NEW YORK, (MILLAT ONLINE):US President Donald Trump’s first-year average job approval rating was at least 10 percentage points lower than that of any of his predecessors, according to the latest Gallup poll.
The job approval rating of Trump, who is a Republican, during his first year in office averaged 38.4 percent, Gallup reported. By comparison, Democratic President Barack Obama’s first-year average approval rating was 57.2 percent.
The only other president to average below 50 percent in his first-year job approval rating was President Bill Clinton, also a Democrat whose average was 49.3 percent, Gallup reported.Six out of the 10 men who have been elected president since World War II have had a job approval rating averaging at 60 percent or higher during their first year in office.
Trump’s average job approval rating during his first year also falls within the top 10 worst average job approval ratings for any president since Gallup started regularly recording the measurement in 1945.
The poll is based on interviews conducted between Jan. 20, 2017, and Jan. 21, 2018, among 175,710 adults. The margin of error is 1 percentage point.
Trump has struggled with low job approval ratings throughout his first year in office. He has failed to fulfill some of his key campaign promises, included the repeal and replace of Obama Care and building a wall along the country’s southern border.
In December, Trump signed a sweeping Republican tax bill into law, enacting his first major legislative accomplishment since winning the White House.
