56,111 emergency victims rescued in last month

LAHORE, Mar 3 (APP): Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue
1122) rescued 56,111 victims of different emergencies during
54,514 operations in the last month in the province.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded
include: 19,089 accidents, 27,993 medical emergencies,
998 fire incidents, 1509 crimes, 53 drowning incidents,
33 building collapses, 11 explosions and 4,828 miscellaneous
ones.
According to statistics, fire incidents occurred in
major cities, including 186 in Lahore, 110 in Faisalabad,
70 in Rawalpindi, 58 in Multan, 52 in Gujranwala and 40 in
Sialkot. Similarly, 3,427 accidents were reported in Lahore,
1,804 in Faisalabad, 1,099 in Gujranwala and 1,178 in Multan
and 717 in Rawalpindi.

Dr Rizwan Naseer while presiding over a meeting of Rescue Officers
at Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Friday reviewed the performance
of emergency operations in all districts of February.
The Provincial Monitoring Cell briefed the director
general that overall 10,651 critical patients were referred
from primary to specialized healthcare facilities in the last
month.
Dr Rizwan Naseer said 900 emergency medical technicians were
being hired for motorbike ambulance service which will be
made operational by end of year 2017.
