Ali Gilani calls for IOK assembly poll boycott

ISLAMABAD, (APP): All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC)
Chairman,Syed Ali Gilani has appealed people for election boycott in Islamabad assembly constituency scheduled to go for polls on June 22.
According to KMS, Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said: “We
have a set policy regarding every type of election drama held in Kashmir. Instead of a democratic practice, elections in Kashmir in presence of 10 lakh heavily armed Indian forces are just military exercises and India uses it as an argument in the international forums to justify its forced control on Kashmir and portrays it as referendum of the Kashmiri people in its favour”.
He added that “He challenged the pro-Indian parties and the
authorities to remove thousands of forces camps from civil populations, release pro-freedom leaders, lift ban on their political activities and let the people decide freely then it will no more be possible for them to hold election dramas in the territory.”
“To prove my point, I ask Mehbooba Mufti to release me from house
detention and allow me to visit Islamabad constituency just for five days and let me freely meet the people of the area, then everybody will come to know the actual percentage of people’s participation in this military exercise”, Syed Ali Gilani maintained.
