SARGODHA, Oct 24 (APP)- Director Citrus Research Institution Altaf-ul-Rehman said farmers were being provided all sorts of assistance and modern techniques awareness with the goal to enhance per acre citrus produce in this area. Talking to this scribe on Monday, Mr Rehman urged the farmers to visit the citrus research institute where proper consultation was being provided about the modern techniques of cultivation as well as the methods for improving per acre citrus production. He advised the farmers to install at least six frames of Methyl eugenol at their orchard farms to avoid fruit bees. He warned the kinnow growers about the fungus which was recently attacking the fruit bunches where brown colored spots were also visible which caused loss of fruit flowers,adding that proper medicines should be used after consultation with the experts. This region known as citrus production market produces a total of 12,370,51 tons citrus from 94,623 acre area every year,he said.
