ISLAMABAD, (APP): Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) has
recovered 275 Kg drugs worth of Rs 183 million in International
market during 15 countrywide operations.
ANF also arrested 26 drug smugglers including a lady involved
and seized 7 vehicles. The recovered drugs comprised 263 Kgs
Hashish, 9.6 Kgs Opium and 3 Kgs Heroin.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi while carrying out an
operation at Attock City, arrested 2 local drug peddlers and
recovered 1.1 Kg Heroin from their personal possession.
In second operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug
peddler from Quid-e-Azam University Chowk, Islamabad and recovered
1.5 Kg Hashish from his personal possession. As per initial reports,
the accused was involved in drug supply to the students of Quid-e-
Azam University, Islamabad.
In third operation, ANF Rawalpindi while acting on tip-off,
arrested 2 local drug peddlers near Chatti Graveyard Chowk,
Pirwadhai, Rawalpindi and recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish from their
personal possession.
In fourth operation conducted near Dhoke Hafiz Abad Bus Stop,
Airport Road, Rawalpindi, ANF Rawalpindi apprehended 3 persons along
with recovery of 1.7 Kg Heroin, which was found in their personal
possession.
As per preliminary information, the arrested persons were
involved in supply of drugs at local level. In fifth operation, ANF
Rawalpindi stopped a Toyota Corolla Car near Jehlum Toll Plaza, GT
Road, Jehlum and seized 20 Kg Hashish during search of the vehicle.
Hashish was concealed in secret cavities of the car. Two drug
carriers were also held during the operation. ANF Rawalpindi while
carrying out sixth operation near Tarki Toll Plaza, Main GT Road,
Jehlum, seized a Toyota Corolla Car, which resulted in seizure of
7.2 Kg Hashish concealed in it.
Two persons on board were also taken into custody. In seventh
operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1 Kg Hashish while arresting
from 2 persons at Burhan, GT Road, Attock.
ANF Lahore while intercepting a Honda City Car near Babu Sabu
Motorway Toll Plaza, Lahore and recovered 66 Kg Hashish from the
secret cavities of the car. Two persons namely Rasheed Ahmad
resident of Rawalpindi and Muhammad Riaz resident of Vehari were
also apprehended at the spot.
In another operation, ANF Lahore while intercepting a Suzuki
Mehran Car at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore, recovered 3.6 Kg Hashish
from personal possession of 3 persons on board, identified as Khyber
Khan, Tariq Khan and Aziz-ur-Rehman, all residents of Peshawar.
Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore Road Check Team detained
a lady drug carrier namely Khushnuma Bibi hailing from District
Mardan, and recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish from her personal possession.
The accused was arrested at Sambrial, GT Road, Sialkot while
travelling in a passenger bus.
ANF Lahore intercepted a vehicle Bolan Carry at Thokar Niaz
Baig Interchange and recovered 10.8 Kgs of Charas and 9.6 Kgs of
Opium. Charas was packed in 9 packets of 1.2 Kgs each, while Opium
was packed in 8 packets of 1.2 Kgs each and all drugs were concealed
in secret cavities of the vehicle.
Two persons in car were arrested at the spot, while another
two have been arrested on their pointation from Lahore.
ANF Karachi raided a premises situated in the area of Malir
Nadi, Bakra Peere Road, Karachi seized 130 Kg Hashish from stocked
in it.
In another operation, ANF Karachi on pursuance of an
information, held a local drug supplier namely Rauf Ahmed resident
of Ghotki and recovered 5.6 Kg Hashish from his personal possession.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police
Stations and further investigations are underway.
