ISLAMABAD, (APP): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Talal
Chaudhry has said anti-terrorism operation is being conducted in different parts of the country to eliminate this menace.
While talking to PTV, he said federal government had taken all
decisions on Karachi operation with the consensus of all stakeholders including the Sindh government and credit for its success also goes to the provincial government.
Talal dispelled the impression that operation was underway only in
Karachi and said that anti-terrorism operation was being carried out by the law enforcement agencies in other parts of the country as well.
He referred to a past incident in Punjab where Rangers and
Pakistan Army were called to conduct the operation against
criminals.
“Rangers are performing duties in Sindh on the request of
provincial government to maintain law and order”, he said.
Talal said people, business community and political parties
in the mega city had demanded for Rangers’ operation in view of
miserable security situation there.
He said as all stakeholders have acknowledged visible
improvement in law and order situation in Karachi, so they are
supporting extension in Rangers’ powers.
He said Karachi is economic hub of the country and peace in
the metropolitan is linked to the peace of the entire country.
It was responsibility of the Sindh government to improve
good governance and enhance professional competence of Police so
it could handle security matters, he added.
